Overview

Manaslu Tsum valley is Tea house trekking. This trek takes you to far from crowds of trekkers. Tsum valley which is also known as hidden valley , this valley is closely related to that of Tibet.

This treks leads you to the waterfalls and rivers  , challenging rocks trails, gurung village , long suspension bridges, mani walls, chortens,  Buddhist shrines and towards the worlds highest mountain Mount Mansalu view and 5160m larke pass.

Itinerary

The company will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel.

Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu includes guided tour around the valley while the company will prepare documents like the permit required for the trek.

We begin our trek and drive from Kathmandu to Arughat. Again drive by local Jeep to the Sotikhola through the Gurung and Magar villages, past fields and waterfalls, till we reach Soti Khola. We will stay overnight in Soti Khola.

After breakfast, we begin our trek from Soti Khola to Machha Khola and walk over the rocky and narrow road along with the rivers, forests and waterfalls.

We start our journey in the Manaslu region of Nepal. We cross Machhakhola and climb up gradually towards the small village of Khorla Besi and the natural hot spring at Tatopani. As we walk through the forest, we cross Budhi Gandaki, climb over a ridge and finally reach the village of Jagat following the trail.

We continue our trek and walk from Sallari to Sirdibas. After some hours, we reach Philim via Ghattea Khola. After crossing the Philim village the trail is relatively flat till EkleBhatti. Furthermore, we continue on Manaslu Trekking Trail to reach Nyak Phedi and cross the suspension bridge which split the 2 trekking routes. The trekking trail on our right-hand side takes us to Tsum Valley while the other takes us to Manaslu Circuit and Larkyala Pass. For our destination to Lokpa, we continue our hike through a peaceful forestry uphill trail with the breeze of the Sheyar River.

Our trekking trail towards Chumling Village mostly follows the small river called Sheyar Khola. The trail is uphill till we reach Ghadhi Khola. The trail section between Lokpa and Ghadhi Khola is undulating have a smooth rise and fall due to the deep Rocky mountainous and geographical features.The inclined trail also provides wider views of Chumling valley.

After breakfast, we start our trek to Chekampar. We follow the Syar river trail that goes down to Dumje and climbs steeply to the largest city in the Tsum valley. This village is situated on flat land and made up of two settlements Chhekam and Paro. From the valley, we have a view of the Ganesh Himal range in front to the south which provides spectacular views of the Baudha and Himal Chuli peaks to the southwest.

After breakfast, we leave Chekampar and start our trek. We walk past various villages and follow a trail developed as a highway along the Tsum valley. We cross Lamagaon and a sacred Piren Cave where saint Milarepa was believed to meditate. After exploring the cave, we climb uphill and reach Nile village.

In the morning, we leave the Nile and walk towards the Nepal-Tibet border area following a trail towards the west to Mu Gompa. At the Mu gompa, we can get some insights into preserving Tibetan Buddhist culture and religion which also has a beautiful, ancient monastery with 100 monks. A gentle climb uphill from the Nile brings us to Mu Gompa at an elevation of 3700 meters.

After exploring Mu Gompa, We will be heading back to Chekampar today which is 6 hours long journey and will be staying there for a night.

After exploring the caves, gompas, and villages in the Tsum valley, we continue our journey and descend to the village of Chumling. We backtrack our steps following the same path we had previously taken enjoying the splendid views of the mountains on the way. We stop at lower Tsum, that is Chumling village.

After leaving Chumling, we descend towards the village of Deng. The trail downhill is full of stunning mountain views of Ganesh Himal and Manaslu Himal. First, we cross a bridge over the Budhi Gandaki river and follow a wide route full of bamboo trees. Then we will pass a forest near the Deng river. Finally, we cross the river and enter the village of Deng.

Today, we walk through farmlands and villages and cross a suspension bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River. We follow the trail and pass through various forests and mani stones on the way to Ghap. We follow a trail beside the river and cross it many times along the forest and with gompas on the trail. Finally, we do a steep climb along the way to reach Namrung which is a beautiful viewpoint of mountains like Singri Himal, Ganesh Himal, Mt. Hiunchuli and many others in the range

Day 15 :
Trek to Lho

Enjoying our breakfast with amazing views of the mountains in Namrung, we make our way towards Lho. We climb up a steep path through a forested area to Lihi. As you move ahead you will notice a change in vegetation that turns more alpine. You will get a glimpse of the Manaslu Himal on the way that will follow you along with the Lho village.

Duration: 3-4 hours

After breakfast, we leave Loh and continue with our trek. We cross Shyla village on the way to reach Samagaun. The trail passes through some amazing landscapes and close-up views of Mt. Manaslu. We can explore the famous Ribung Gompa in Samagaun as well.

Duration: 4-5 hours

Today, we will stay in Samagaon to acclimate to the rising elevation. However, we will explore the surrounding areas and you will have two options to choose from, to hike up Manaslu Base Camp or Pungyen Gompa. We can hike to any of these places and return to Samagaun in the evening.

After breakfast, we climb uphill along a deserted path and windy valley to Samdo. Perhaps, this will be one of the best trekking days on the whole trip, regarding the view and walking. We follow the Budhi Gandaki River and cross a bridge to take a trail that leads us to Larkya La. The trail passes through a beautiful forest full of rhododendron, juniper, and birch trees. Moving ahead, we climb up to Samdo which is just 4km away from the Tibetan border.

We start our day and walk along the trail to cross a wooden bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River. After crossing the bridge, we will hike up towards the campsite at Dharamshala, the high camp for the Larkya La pass. On the way, we get an outstanding glimpse of the Larkya glacier.

Duration: 4-5 hours

Today is a special day as we will walk to the highest point of the Manaslu Circuit trek, Larkya La pass. From the pass, we can enjoy the mesmerizing views of Mt. Himlung, Mt. Kang Guru, Annapurna II and many more in the range. After summiting the pass, we will walk down for around 3 hours to reach Bimthang.

Day 21 :
Trek to Gho

From Bimthang, the trail descends towards a bridge over the Dudh Khola river. We cross the bridge and walk through the forests and reach the village of Gho.

Duration: 7-8 hours

This is the last day you will be walking on the Manaslu Circuit Trek. Today will be an easy trek following the Dudh Khola through the bamboo forest for about 1:30 to 2 hours. We cross a police checkpoint on the way to Dharapani, the point that joins the route to Annapurna Circuit. From Dharapani, we will drive to Besisahar for 2-3 hours.

Early in the morning, we will be back in Kathmandu with our scenic driving that will around 5-6 hours. We will spend your night at your hotel in Kathmandu.

On this day, you will rest in your hotel and you also will have the option to go sightseeing around Kathmandu valley and choose from the places like Swoyambhunath Temple, Bouddha, Pashupatinath Temple, Kirtipur and so on.
